New Delhi (Aryavarth): In a significant step towards fulfilling the Constitutional mandate of Article 39 A to ensure Access to Justice, the Department of Justice (DoJ) is celebrating the launch of Tele-Law 2.0 on 25th August 2023 at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi. The event marks the achievement of 50 Lakh milestone in rendering pre-litigation advice through technology, as well as the integration of legal advice and representation services under one platform.
The launch will be graced by the Minister of State (I/C) for Law and Justice, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal. This event is crucial as it symbolizes the Government’s commitment to making legal services more accessible and efficient for the common citizen. By uniting the legal advice service under Tele-Law with the legal representation services under Nyaya Bandhu (Pro Bono) program, the event will offer the public a single registration and gateway to access legal advice, assistance, and representation.
The ceremony will also provide a stage to honor frontline workers who are instrumental in ensuring legal services are delivered to the grassroots level. Various showcases and releases are planned during the event.
Participants will include officials from the Department of Justice, CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd, students, and faculty from Pro Bono Clubs constituted under Law schools, as well as various partnering agencies implementing literacy and legal awareness.
The launch of Tele-Law 2.0 signifies an essential stride in the Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the legal aid ecosystem. By integrating different elements of the legal support system and using technology to streamline access, the initiative is aligned with the broader goal of ensuring “Justice for All.” This landmark event reinforces the nation’s dedication to building a more inclusive and responsive legal framework that can serve the common citizen more effectively. It represents an innovative approach to legal aid that may serve as a model for other nations striving to enhance the accessibility and efficiency of their legal systems.
