Agency(New Delhi): In an inspiring display of women’s empowerment and technological advancement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi graced the Sashakt Nari – Viksit Bharat event, spotlighting the significant strides in agricultural innovation through drones and the bolstering of Self Help Groups (SHGs). Held at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa, New Delhi, the occasion showcased drone demonstrations by Namo Drone Didis from across India. Adding to the celebration, Modi presented drones to 1,000 Namo Drone Didis and announced the disbursement of approximately Rs 8,000 crore in bank loans and an additional Rs 2,000 crore in capitalization support to SHGs, acknowledging their pivotal role in nation-building.
During his address, Modi lauded the transformative achievements of Drone Didis and Lakhpati Didis, affirming their contributions to writing new chapters of success. Highlighting the importance of dignity and opportunities for Nari Shakti, he shared insights into his administration’s efforts towards women’s empowerment, ranging from addressing basic needs to fostering technological and entrepreneurial skills among women. Modi’s schemes, deeply rooted in everyday experiences, aim at easing the lives of women and encouraging their active participation in the nation’s technological revolution.
Furthermore, Modi emphasized the remarkable growth of SHGs in India, underlining their impact on women’s empowerment and rural development. The government’s supportive measures, including enhanced financial assistance and the promotion of modern infrastructure, have tripled the income of these groups. Modi called upon the SHGs to take a leading role in implementing the PM Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana, ensuring priority for their initiatives.
The event, attended by Union Ministers Shri Arjun Munda, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, and Shri Giriraj Singh, not only celebrated the economic empowerment of women but also underscored the broader societal benefits of integrating technology with grassroots movements. Modi’s vision for a Sashakt Nari leads to a Viksit Bharat, where women are at the forefront of technological innovation and economic development, marking a significant step towards inclusive growth and gender equality.
