Agency(New Delhi): The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is gearing up for the grand finale of the National Youth Parliament Festival 2024, scheduled to take place in the prestigious Central Hall of the Parliament, New Delhi, on March 5th and 6th. This event, themed ‘Young Voices: Engage and Empower for Nation’s Transformation’, aims to fortify the democratic ethos among the youth and encourage their participation in the nation-building process.
The National Youth Parliament Festival 2024, conducted from February 9th to March 6th, saw participation from across 785 districts of India. The festival, organized at district, state, and national levels, witnessed enthusiastic engagement from the youth, culminating in 87 state-level winners who will now assemble in New Delhi for the finals.
At the national level, 29 first-place winners from the State Youth Parliaments will present their views on various topics, showcasing their understanding and vision for the country’s future. The remaining 58 winners will attend the event as part of the audience, celebrating the spirit of democracy and youth participation.
The National Youth Parliament Festival, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat address in December 2017, aims to strengthen democratic values among young Indians. It encourages discipline, tolerance, and an understanding of parliamentary practices and procedures. Moreover, it emphasizes the importance of active citizenship, leadership, and the realization of youth potential in contributing to national development.
The event not only serves as a platform for young voices to be heard but also aligns with the government’s efforts to engage and empower the youth in the transformative journey towards a developed and vibrant democracy.
As the finalists prepare to take the stage in the Central Hall of the Parliament, the National Youth Parliament Festival 2024 promises to be a landmark event, reflecting the dynamic and constructive participation of India’s youth in the democratic process.
