Agency(New Delhi): Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam met with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi, extending an invitation for the foundation stone laying ceremony of Shri Kalki Dham in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal, scheduled for February 19. Krishnam emphasized that this meeting should not be interpreted as a political gathering.
This invitation follows Krishnam’s recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during which he extended a similar invitation. Krishnam expressed his gratitude to PM Modi on social media for accepting the invitation, to which Modi responded, acknowledging the sacredness of the occasion and expressing his appreciation for being invited.
Acharya Pramod Krishnam, who had previously contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Lucknow on a Congress ticket but was unsuccessful, has been vocal in his criticism of some decisions made by the Congress leadership. This includes the party’s absence from the Ram Temple Pran Pratihistha ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22 and its approach to the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
Recently, Krishnam expressed concern over the Congress’ election strategy, suggesting that while other political parties are preparing for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress appears to be focused on the 2029 elections. He criticized the party’s current activities as “political tourism” and questioned its preparedness for the upcoming 2024 elections.
The meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and the subsequent invitation highlight Krishnam’s engagement in religious and cultural events beyond his political activities, reflecting a blend of spiritual and political dimensions in his approach.
