Hyderabad, Telangana: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced that the state government will soon launch a single-window online system to grant all necessary permissions for film production in one place, making the process faster and more efficient.
Speaking at the Gaddar Film Awards ceremony on Thursday, the Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to transforming Hyderabad into a global filmmaking destination. He said the state is ready to welcome film productions from across the world.
Highlighting growing international interest, he noted that Netflix has already established a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in the city, signaling increasing global attention, including from Hollywood. He also mentioned that film industries from countries like South Korea, Japan, and the United States would be invited to collaborate and invest in Hyderabad.
Revanth Reddy stated that the government aims to develop the film sector on par with the IT and pharmaceutical industries, positioning it as a major contributor to the state’s economy. He also assured investors of a stable and secure environment for investments in Hyderabad.
Paying tribute to revolutionary poet and singer Gaddar, the Chief Minister said his work inspired social awareness through art. He added that recognizing young talent through such awards would strengthen the industry’s future.

He also acknowledged the contributions of legendary figures like N. T. Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, D. Ramanaidu, and Ghattamaneni Krishna in shifting the Telugu film industry base to Hyderabad. He credited media baron Ramoji Rao for establishing Ramoji Film City, along with filmmakers like Prabhakar Reddy and Dasari Narayana Rao for supporting film workers.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu reiterated the government’s vision to make Hyderabad a national hub for cinema. He noted that while cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai face space constraints, Hyderabad offers ample opportunities and infrastructure for the film industry to expand across languages.
