Review Overview

The Aryavarth Express Chandigarh [India], March 23: Haryana Police have intensified action against rapper Badshah’s latest song, ‘Tateeree’, removing hundreds of videos and reels across social media following complaints over allegedly offensive lyrics.

According to officials, a total of 857 links have been taken down so far, including 154 YouTube videos and 703 Instagram reels. The removals followed notices issued to social media platforms, instructing them to remove all versions of the song, including re-uploads and short clips.

Haryana Director General of Police Ajay Singhal stated that content undermining the dignity of women and minors will not be tolerated. Accounts sharing such material may be blocked, and repeat offenders could face strict legal action. Additional Director General of Police Shibas Kabiraj echoed the warning, saying violators will face legal consequences, including potential account restrictions.

The action comes after an FIR was registered at the Cyber Police Station, Sector-20, Panchkula, and police teams are actively monitoring online activity related to the song.

‘Tateeree’ has faced widespread criticism since its release earlier this month. The Haryana State Commission for Women (HSCW) even issued a formal summons, with chairperson Renu Bhatia condemning the track and calling Badshah’s actions “unforgivable.”

Responding to the controversy, Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, posted on Instagram denying any intent to offend. “I am from Haryana. Those who know me know that my language, my food, my lifestyle, and my identity are from Haryana. I never intended to speak inappropriately about any child or woman of Haryana,” he said.

An FIR registered in Panchkula on March 6 alleged the use of objectionable lyrics and visuals in the music video. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities keeping a close watch on the dissemination of the content.
