The Aryavarth Express Indore (Madhya Pradesh): At least five people were injured after a loading vehicle rammed into multiple vehicles on the Indore–Khandwa road in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district on Monday, police said.
The incident occurred around noon near the Radha Swami Satsang Complex under the jurisdiction of Bhanwarkuan police station in Indore. According to the police, the loading vehicle was being driven recklessly when it struck four to five vehicles while travelling from Tejaji Nagar towards the IT Park area.
Police reached the spot soon after receiving information about the accident and arrested the driver. Preliminary investigation suggests that the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Bhanwarkuan police station sub-inspector Dharmveer Singh Chauhan said that three of the injured were admitted to a trauma centre for treatment, while two others with minor injuries were shifted to a general hospital.
One of the injured victims said he was riding a motorcycle with his wife and daughter and was crossing Khandwa Naka square when the loading vehicle suddenly hit several vehicles and rammed into them.
After colliding with multiple vehicles, the loading vehicle crashed into the boundary wall of a nearby school. The incident was captured on the school’s CCTV cameras.
School teacher Vikas Damani said an out-of-control white loading vehicle struck the school’s boundary wall after hitting several vehicles on the road. He added that the CCTV footage of the incident would be provided to the police if required for investigation.
