Agency(New Delhi):In a notable achievement, 31 students from the Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) at Jamia Millia Islamia have cleared the Civil Services Main Exam of 2023, confirming their skills and preparation levels. From the 71 RCA candidates who reached the interview stage, these 31 students have now succeeded, with placements in prestigious services like the IAS and IPS anticipated based on their ranks and chosen preferences.
Among the standout performers from RCA this year is Nausheen, who achieved the impressive All India 9th rank. The RCA, supported by the University Grants Commission (UGC), has been instrumental since its inception in 2010 in providing free coaching and residential facilities to underrepresented groups including SC, ST, women, and minorities aiming for civil services and other competitive exams.
The success of the RCA students is celebrated by the institution, with Prof. Samina Bano, the Officiating Director and Academic Counsellor at RCA, highlighting the balanced gender distribution of the achievers and the high level of mentoring provided. Students shared their journey through multiple attempts at the UPSC exams, expressing gratitude for the support from family and peers, and emphasizing the importance of perseverance and learning from past setbacks.
Prof. Eqbal Hussain, the Officiating Vice Chancellor of Jamia, expressed pride in the consistent performance of RCA students in the civil services exams, affirming ongoing administrative support to enhance the academy’s achievements.
The overall results of the UPSC 2023 were declared on the same day, with a total of 1,016 candidates recommended for various central government services, following the rigorous three-stage examination process conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.
