Agency(Pune): In a distressing incident in Pune, three people involved in the murder of a woman engineering student last month aimed to solve their financial troubles through crime, according to police reports. The victim, identified as 22-year-old Bhagyashri Sude, was allegedly kidnapped from the Viman Nagar area by her college friend Shivam Fulawale, along with accomplices Suresh Indure and Sagar Jadhav.
The culprits reportedly strangled her and concealed her body on the outskirts of Ahmednagar, subsequently demanding a ransom of Rs 9 lakh from her parents by sending a message to their phone. This demand came after they had already taken her life, an official from the Vimantal police station disclosed.
The grim discovery of Sude’s body in Ahmednagar was made on Sunday, following a missing person complaint lodged by her distraught parents. The police swiftly acted on the complaint, leading to the apprehension of the three suspects who confessed to the murder and disclosed the location of the burial site.
On Monday, the accused were presented before a Pune court, which ordered their detention under police custody until April 15, allowing further investigation into this heinous act driven by financial desperation.
