Lucknow, (Aryavarth) Uttar Pradesh has increased its exports from Rs 88,000 crore to more than Rs 1.5 lakh crore under the current administration. The ODOP scheme has played a significant role increasing exports.
“Now, all the authentic ODOP items will be available on the portal.A customer needs to choose a product, place an order, and it will be delivered to your residence in no time,” a government spokesperson said.
The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Export Promotion chief secretary Navneet Sehgal, said that the portal serves as an interface between consumers and artisans, wherein the latter will be able to sell their items directly to the consumers.
Sehgal added that the government has already tied up with e-commerce platforms such as Flipkart and Amazon India to ensure seamless delivery of the items to the buyers on the one hand and promote ODOP products across the country and also globally.
This initiative has benefited more and more artisans from the state as there is no middle man involved in the entire process, and the artisans themselves can register with the e-commerce platform to sell their products directly. The ultimate goal of the state government is to find national and global markets for specific products and crafts of Uttar Pradesh that are not found anywhere else and to make these products available to the people across the country and abroad.
All products registered with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) portal will also be available on e-commerce sites such as Flipkart and Amazon India. Uttar Pradesh is the first state in the country to join the ONDC network, which has proved to be a boon for more miniature artisans.
