Bengaluru: In a major legal development, the Bangalore City Civil Court has ordered a stay on construction activities at the Prestige Sterling Ascentia project in Bellandur. The case, brought forward by one of the landowners represented by Adv. Anupam Agarwal, partner at Ramniwas Surajmal (Advocates & Solicitors), alleges that the Sterling Group illegally transferred approximately 3 acres of land from the residential project, where Prestige Group is currently constructing a commercial project.
In its order dated October 25, 2024, the court restrained any further construction on the disputed 3 acres of land. The plaintiff’s counsel argued that the transfer was unauthorised, making ongoing construction activities unlawful. Responding to the serious nature of the allegations, the court ordered an immediate halt to all construction activities on the disputed land until further notice.
This stay order is a significant step in the ongoing legal proceedings, and the case will be further examined in the coming weeks.
