New Delhi (Agency): On Thursday, police reported a daring robbery in Sikar where an unidentified masked man wielding a bomb made off with Rs 24 lakh from a private bank. The audacious crime unfolded in Yes Bank located in Harsawa village, within this Himachal Pradesh district.
The perpetrator reportedly threatened to ignite the bomb if bank staff failed to comply with his demands for money. Initially, an employee handed over Rs 1.25 lakh, but the robber’s greed was not satisfied. He consequently proceeded to the cashier’s room, where he loaded his bag with additional cash.
Following the looting, the malefactor slipped away, securing the bank’s main gate behind him. “The criminal had threatened to detonate the bomb he was carrying. He escaped with Rs 24 lakh cash. We are presently investigating the incident,” informed Fatehpur SHO Krishna Kant. There were no customers present during the incident.
The ongoing investigation involves reviewing CCTV footage from the bank and surrounding areas, Kant added.
