Bengaluru (Agency): A shocking and horrifying incident unfolded in the town of Chintamani, where a cloth merchant was arrested for allegedly slitting his friend’s throat and consuming his blood. The accused, identified as Vijay, committed this gruesome act on the suspicion that his friend was involved in an affair with his wife.
The incident occurred a week ago in the desolate area of Siddepally Cross in Chintamani Taluk. Vijay, accompanied by his cloth merchant friend, John, took the victim, Maresh, to a remote location near Cross Forest. There, they brutally assaulted Maresh before Vijay took a knife and slit his throat, reportedly consuming his blood. Shockingly, John filmed the entire horrifying episode and circulated the video on social media, leading to the arrest of Vijay by the Kencharlahalli police.
All three individuals involved in this gruesome act are cloth merchants residing in Gandhinagar, Chintamani taluk of Chikkaballapur. Vijay, driven by his suspicions of an affair, harbored intense rage and a desire for revenge against Maresh, leading him to commit this heinous crime.
Fortunately, Maresh survived the vicious attack and is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital. His brother, upon learning of the incident, rushed to the scene and promptly transported him for medical attention. However, the matter was later settled through a Raji Panchayat, a community dispute resolution mechanism involving village elders.
Maresh’s brother lodged a formal complaint against Vijay and John at the Kencharlahalli police station, prompting the authorities to initiate appropriate legal action based on the viral video evidence.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns about the depths of human depravity and the need for stringent measures to prevent such acts of violence. The police are diligently investigating the case and ensuring that justice is served.
