Review Overview

The Aryavarth Express New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will undertake a three-day visit to Chhattisgarh from February 7 to February 9, during which he will chair a high-level review meeting on the internal security situation, with a special focus on operations against Left-Wing Extremism (LWE), official sources said.

During the visit, the Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to hold a comprehensive security review meeting with senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Chhattisgarh government, top officers of the state police, and commanders of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) deployed in the state. The meeting will assess the prevailing law and order situation and evaluate the progress of ongoing anti-Naxal operations.

The review will also focus on inter-agency coordination, intelligence sharing and the effectiveness of recent operational strategies aimed at curbing Naxal activities in affected districts. Officials are expected to brief the Home Minister on recent security developments, challenges on the ground and future course of action.

Apart from security matters,Amit Shah is likely to review the implementation of development and welfare schemes in Naxal-affected and tribal areas, which form a key part of the government’s integrated strategy combining firm security measures with accelerated development. Issues related to road connectivity, infrastructure development, healthcare, education and livelihood generation in remote regions are expected to be discussed.

Chhattisgarh remains a key focus state in the Centre’s efforts to eliminate Left-Wing Extremism. The government has repeatedly emphasised that sustained security operations, coupled with inclusive development initiatives, are essential to ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region.

The visit underlines the Centre’s continued commitment to closely monitor the internal security situation and strengthen coordination with state governments in its mission to make the country free from Naxal violence.
