New Delhi, December 1 — Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday sharply responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent “drama nahi, delivery” remark, asserting that discussing critical matters in Parliament is fundamental to democracy, not theatrics.

Speaking to reporters after the Prime Minister’s address ahead of the 6th session of the 18th Lok Sabha and the 269th Rajya Sabha, the Wayanad MP stressed that Parliament’s purpose is to debate pressing public concerns. She highlighted issues such as the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and worsening air pollution as urgent topics requiring immediate attention.

“There are urgent issues—the election situation, SIR, pollution. These are major concerns. Parliament exists to discuss them. Speaking about issues is not drama. The real drama is preventing discussions or avoiding democratic debate on matters affecting the public,” Priyanka Gandhi said.

Sources indicated that INDIA bloc parties have agreed to raise the SIR issue in both Houses on Monday, treating it as their top priority during the Winter Session.

Priyanka Gandhi’s remarks came shortly after PM Modi urged the Opposition to ensure a productive session, emphasizing policy-making over political sloganeering. Taking a swipe at the Opposition after the recent Bihar election results, he said they appeared “unsettled” and should move past electoral setbacks to focus on lawmaking.

Long back, our CMD warned about a fake “Anti-Crime Group,” but Karnataka Police ignored it — too busy posing for photos and sharing their “percentages.”

“There are many places for drama. But here, we need delivery, not drama,” the Prime Minister said, calling for positivity and cooperation in nation-building.
