Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra has been discharged from Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai and will now continue his recovery at home under medical supervision, according to an official statement from his son Sunny Deol’s team.
The statement said, “Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time.”
It further added, “We deeply appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you.”
Family sources confirmed that the 88-year-old actor will undergo home-based treatment under a doctor’s care, with ICU facilities arranged at his residence in Juhu.
Earlier in the day, an ambulance was seen entering Dharmendra’s house, shortly after he was discharged.
The actor was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital earlier this week after his health reportedly worsened on Monday. News of his hospitalisation had sparked concern among fans and members of the film industry.
Several Bollywood celebrities, including Salman Khan, Govinda, and Ameesha Patel, visited the hospital on Monday evening to check on the actor. Family members — including Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Hema Malini, and grandsons Karan and Rajveer Deol — were also present. On Tuesday, Aamir Khan, accompanied by Gauri Suresh Patil, was also spotted visiting him.
With a film career spanning over six decades, Dharmendra has delivered numerous iconic performances in Hindi cinema, including classics such as Phool Aur Patthar, Seeta Aur Geeta, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Dost, Sholay, Pratiggya, and Dharam Veer.
The legendary actor will next be seen in the upcoming war drama ‘Ikkis’, starring Agastya Nanda.
