Jammu— In a strong retaliatory response to unprovoked firing by Pakistan Rangers, the Border Security Force (BSF) has confirmed the destruction of a terrorist launchpad in Looni, located in Pakistan’s Sialkot district, opposite Jammu’s Akhnoor sector. The ceasefire violation began at approximately 9:00 PM on Friday.

In an official statement released Saturday, the BSF declared, “The terrorist launchpad at Looni was completely destroyed.” The statement underscored the force’s commitment to neutralising cross-border threats and safeguarding India’s sovereignty.

The incident marks a sharp escalation along the international boundary. BSF officials reported that Pakistan initiated firing on BSF posts in the Jammu sector on May 9. The BSF retaliated proportionately, inflicting heavy damage on Pakistani Rangers’ infrastructure, including the Dhandhar post, which was reportedly providing cover for terrorist infiltration.

According to BSF officials, no casualties were reported on the Indian side.

Earlier on Friday, BSF forces also foiled a major infiltration attempt in the Samba sector. A large group of terrorists attempting to enter Indian territory under cover fire from the Dhandhar post were intercepted by BSF’s advanced surveillance systems.

Alert troops engaged the infiltrators in a fierce gun battle, resulting in the elimination of at least seven terrorists. The BSF also released thermal imaging footage showing the destruction of the Pakistani Dhandhar post.

Meanwhile, tensions further escalated on Saturday after Pakistan launched attacks on 26 locations across India. In response, Indian forces struck multiple targets, including at least four Pakistani airbases, in the early hours of the day. Intermittent firing continues at several points along the Line of Control (LoC).

India remains on high alert as the situation continues to develop.
