Agency (Mumbai): The Vashi police in Navi Mumbai have filed charges against two individuals for allegedly kidnapping a 45-year-old man named Sachin Rathod and demanding a ransom. The accused, Santosh Rohidas Rathod (alias Bablu) and Charan Rathod, both hailing from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, are being investigated under Section 364A of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to kidnapping for ransom.
Sachin Rathod left his home on Saturday night to meet Santosh and was accompanied by two other individuals. On Sunday morning, Rathod’s wife received a call from him, urging her to arrange a Rs 5 crore ransom. Subsequent calls escalated the demand to Rs 10 crore, prompting his wife to file a complaint with the Vashi police.
The police are actively working to locate Rathod and investigate the involvement of the accused in his disappearance. They remain focused on uncovering any additional details regarding the case.
