Agency(New Delhi):Defense Minister Rajnath Singh recently made a pointed remark about Rahul Gandhi’s political career while campaigning for the BJP candidate Anil Antony in Pathanamthitta, Kerala. He compared Gandhi’s political endeavors to India’s space missions, stating, “Rahulyaan has neither been launched nor has it landed anywhere.” This comment was aimed at highlighting what he perceives as Gandhi’s unsuccessful attempts to establish a significant political presence over the last two decades.
Singh criticized Gandhi for not contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Amethi, a constituency from which he was previously defeated. He suggested that Gandhi lacks the bravery to compete from Amethi again, fearing another loss. Instead, Gandhi has shifted his political base to Kerala, specifically Wayanad, where, according to Singh, local sentiment is also turning against him.
In his speech, Singh also commended former Defense Minister A.K. Antony, describing him as a disciplined and principled figure, admired for his integrity. Despite political differences, he appealed to Antony to support his son Anil in the ongoing election, emphasizing familial bonds over political allegiance.
The Lok Sabha elections in Kerala are scheduled for April 26, with results to be announced on June 4. Singh’s remarks have stirred conversations around Gandhi’s electoral strategy and his position within the Indian political landscape.
