Agency (Bengaluru): Reflecting its vision of positioning India as a leading global power and a force for good in the world, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has outlined a series of initiatives under its “Modi ki Guarantee for Vishwa Bandhu Bharat” as part of its election manifesto.
The party pledges to further consolidate India’s position as the voice of the Global South by leveraging Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary 5S approach – Samman (respect), Samvad (dialogue), Sahyog (cooperation), Shanti (peace), and Samriddhi (prosperity). This move aims to enhance India’s stature as a champion of the developing world and a bridge-builder in an increasingly polarized global order.
Recognizing India’s growing economic and geopolitical clout, the BJP reaffirms its commitment to seeking permanent membership for the country in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). This long-standing demand reflects India’s aspirations to play a greater role in shaping global governance and contribute to international peace and security.
The manifesto also highlights the BJP’s resolve to create a global consensus on the Comprehensive Convention against International Terrorism (CCIT) and other measures to combat the menace of terrorism. Building on the success of the “No Money for Terror” conference, the party aims to strengthen international cooperation in countering terror financing.
To secure India’s strategic interests and ensure a stable and prosperous neighborhood, the BJP pledges to continue its “Neighborhood First” policy. The party also aims to deepen engagement with the Indo-Pacific region under the SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) framework, promoting maritime security, economic cooperation, and regional stability.
Recognizing the importance of economic diplomacy, the manifesto proposes the establishment of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) to boost trade and connectivity between these regions. The party also aims to forge strategic partnerships with resource-rich countries to secure India’s long-term mineral and energy security.
Cultural diplomacy receives special attention in the BJP’s global vision, with the party pledging to establish Thiruvalluvar Cultural Centres across the world to showcase India’s rich heritage and soft power. These centers will offer training in yoga, ayurveda, Indian languages, and classical music, among other aspects of Indian culture.
The manifesto also highlights the BJP’s commitment to supporting the Indian diaspora, actively engaging them in the country’s progress and providing assistance during times of distress. The party aims to leverage the diaspora’s expertise and networks to strengthen India’s global presence and economic ties.
Other key initiatives include sharing India’s successful digital public infrastructure with partner countries, promoting yoga and ayurveda as global health solutions, working towards the repatriation of stolen Indian artifacts, encouraging classical language research, and collaborating with international partners to restore sites of Indian civilization worldwide.
