Agency (Bengaluru): Recognizing the critical role of India’s youth in shaping the nation’s future, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has outlined a comprehensive roadmap for youth empowerment in its “Modi ki Guarantee for Young Citizens” as part of its election manifesto.
The party pledges to establish new institutions of higher learning, building upon the impressive growth in the past decade, which saw the creation of 7 IITs, 16 IIITs, 7 IIMs, 15 AIIMS, 315 Medical Colleges, and 390 universities. Existing institutions will also be strengthened through focused funding, capacity building, infrastructure upgrades, and dedicated research grants.
To ensure that India’s youth are future-ready, the BJP promises to adopt a dynamic learning curriculum at the school level, as mandated by the National Education Policy (NEP), and incorporate industry-aligned content and skill development in emerging technologies in higher education.
The manifesto also pledges to expand skill training opportunities for youth, building upon the robust skill development ecosystem created over the past decade. The party aims to work closely with industry to enhance skilling programs that lead to employment and self-employment.
Transparent government recruitment is another key focus area, with the BJP committing to strict implementation of the law enacted to prevent misconduct in recruitment exams and ensure fair, timely, and transparent filling of government vacancies.
Recognizing the entrepreneurial spirit of India’s youth, the party pledges to expand credit programs like Mudra to support aspiring entrepreneurs in starting and sustaining their ventures, with plans to double the loan limit under the Tarun category to ₹20 lakh for successful repeat borrowers.
The BJP also aims to build upon the success of initiatives like Startup India and Atal Tinkering Labs to expand the startup ecosystem, positioning India as a preferred destination for startups with robust investment, mentorship, and a culture that celebrates entrepreneurial risk-taking.
Other initiatives include creating employment opportunities in manufacturing through the Make in India and PLI schemes, investing in tourism infrastructure to generate jobs, and launching the “MY Bharat” program to involve one crore youth in nation-building activities.
