Agency(New Delhi): Union Minister Rajnath Singh has responded to Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Lalu Yadav’s “no family” comment about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing that Modi considers all Indians as his family. In a recent interview, Singh defended the Prime Minister’s inclusive vision for India, aligning it with the traditional Indian ethos of “Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam” (the world is one family).
This statement comes in the wake of Yadav’s critique at a rally in Patna, where he questioned Modi’s personal life and religious adherence, suggesting that Modi’s lack of a conventional family and his actions post his mother’s death were at odds with Hindu traditions. Yadav’s remarks were part of broader accusations of dynasty politics leveled against Modi and the BJP.
Singh countered these claims by highlighting the BJP’s commitment to maintaining decorum in politics and focusing on national development rather than merely political power. He reiterated that Modi’s approach to governance is rooted in building the nation and fostering unity among its diverse populations.
The Defence Minister also praised the governance model in Uttar Pradesh under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, pointing to it as an example of stable and effective administration by the BJP, contrasting it with past political instability in the state.
The exchange between Yadav and BJP leaders underscores the heated political climate as parties ramp up their campaigns for the upcoming elections. Singh’s defense of Modi aims to mitigate the impact of personal attacks and refocus public attention on the BJP’s administrative achievements.
