Agency(Bengaluru): In a concerning development in Bengaluru, law enforcement authorities have recovered gelatin sticks accompanied by detonators and additional explosive materials in a tractor stationed close to makeshift housing for construction laborers, situated opposite a local school. The discovery, made during a routine patrol in the Chikkanayakanahalli area within the Bellandur police jurisdiction on Monday evening, has raised security alarms. The patrolling officer, upon noticing the explosives, immediately inquired with the onsite workers for clarity regarding the dangerous materials, but received unsatisfactory responses.
Suspicions have been raised by the police that the explosives might have been intended for use by the laborers in rock demolition activities, a common practice in construction projects. However, the lack of clear justification for the presence of such explosives in a highly sensitive area, especially near a school, has prompted the police to initiate a rigorous investigation under the Explosives Substances Act.
