Agency(Bengaluru): Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport is set to enhance its network with the introduction of new air routes, covering both domestic and international destinations. In the national sphere, StarAir is launching a non-stop service connecting Bengaluru with Nanded. This service is scheduled to begin on March 31, offering daily flights that will leave Bengaluru at 7:15 a.m., reaching Nanded at 8:35 a.m. The return journey from Nanded starts at 4:45 p.m., arriving back in Bengaluru by 6:05 p.m.
Indigo is expanding its domestic reach by introducing a daily direct flight between Srinagar and Bengaluru, commencing April 1. This route is designed to connect these cities without stops, with flights departing Bengaluru at 9:35 a.m. and landing in Srinagar at 1:05 p.m.
Vistara is stepping up its game by boosting connections from Bengaluru to three different cities. It has now made available a daily service to Udaipur, doubled the frequency to Thiruvananthapuram with two daily flights, and tripled the service to Kochi with flights three times a day.
In the international domain, Virgin Atlantic is set to begin a daily direct flight operation between Bengaluru and London Heathrow starting March 31. This move not only aims to cater to passenger demand but also to facilitate cargo operations. The flights will be serviced by Virgin Atlantic’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, equipped with 31 seats in upper-class, 35 in premium, and 192 in economy delight, classic, and light categories, alongside an upper-class social area. Additionally, each flight is capable of transporting up to 20 tonnes of cargo, offering substantial capacity for cargo operations between the two cities.
This expansion of routes from Bengaluru’s principal airport marks a significant step in connecting the city more closely with key domestic and international destinations, offering both passengers and cargo operations enhanced options and flexibility.
