New Delhi (Agency): As India gets ready to host the G20 Summit, another thing is making the country proud: its success in space technology. Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister in charge of Science & Technology and Space, spoke about how these two big events show India is ready to lead the world.
Dr Singh said the G20 Summit comes at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seen as a top leader in the world. He also talked about how India’s flag is now on the Moon’s South Pole. This is the first time a spacecraft has landed there. He said this shows how far India has come in science and technology, including making vaccines for Covid-19.
Dr Singh spoke about the theme of the G20 Summit, ‘Vasudeva Kutumbakam,’ which means the world is one family. This fits well with Modi’s idea of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future.’ He said the world understands this message from India now.
In a TV interview, Dr Singh said India is ready to lead in more areas than just politics. He said countries must work together, especially in space technology. Dr Singh said, “If we have to go beyond this, we have to move on collectively, because we are part of the global world.”
India’s space program is doing very well. It found possible signs of water on the Moon and has launched many foreign satellites. India has even earned money by helping other countries put their satellites into space. Dr Singh said India’s space business could be worth $100 billion by the year 2040.
