New Delhi (Agency): The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) is gearing up to launch the ‘Ghar Ghar Congress’ program on September 15, an initiative that involves Congress leaders visiting households across the state. The aim of the program is to communicate to residents how both the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are held accountable for the challenges faced by ordinary citizens.
Sarat Pattnayak, the President of OPCC, announced the launch of the program, stating that Congress leaders will personally visit each home in the state to share the message of the party. The focus will be on highlighting how the BJD and BJP allegedly contribute to the difficulties faced by the common people. Additionally, the party intends to shed light on the alleged neglect of communities such as OBCs, SCs, and STs by the Odisha government.
Jaynarayan Mishra, the Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Assembly, shared that the BJP is gearing up to present a ‘chargesheet’ comprising 108 points against the BJD government. This document will reportedly detail allegations of widespread corruption and misrule, extending from the village level to the state capital. The ‘chargesheet’ is expected to be circulated across panchayats, blocks, and districts to expose what the BJP claims is the BJD’s poor governance.
Mishra further alleged that the state government has failed on multiple fronts. When questioned about the contents of the proposed chargesheet, he mentioned that issues ranging from the Ratna Bhandar controversy related to Lord Jagannath’s temple to corruption at the panchayat level will be highlighted. The BJP leader also accused the mining sector, including coal mining, of being plagued by large-scale irregularities and corruption.
In response to these allegations, BJD Vice-President and MLA Debi Prasad Mishra dismissed the claims made by opposition parties as “false” charges often raised before elections. He expressed confidence that the people of the state continue to support the BJD, which he believes will secure victory in the upcoming elections and form the government once again.
