Dungarpur (Agency): Home Minister Amit Shah criticized opposition INDIA coalition parties, accusing them of insulting ‘Sanatan dharma’ (eternal religion) for the sake of votebank politics and appeasement. Shah’s remarks came in response to Tamil Nadu Youth Welfare Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s statement that ‘Sanatan dharma’ should be eradicated as it allegedly goes against equality and social justice.
Shah addressed the issue during a public rally in Dungarpur while launching the Parivartan Yatra in poll-bound Rajasthan. He referred to the INDIA alliance as a “ghamandiya gathbandhan” (arrogant coalition) and stated that while they may resort to any tactics for votebank politics, their criticism of ‘Sanatan dharma’ will only diminish their credibility.
The home minister emphasized that ‘Sanatan dharma’ holds a special place in the hearts of the people and that Prime Minister Modi’s leadership is guided by the principles of the Constitution. Shah also mentioned the Ram temple issue, highlighting that despite obstacles posed by the Congress for years, the temple’s construction is now progressing and set to be completed in January.
Shah concluded by asserting that the INDIA alliance will not be able to hinder the development of the temple.
