Mathura (Agency): Sri Krishna Janmasthan Temple in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, is fully prepared for the upcoming Janmashtami festival on September 7, with comprehensive arrangements in place to ensure a smooth and festive experience for devotees.
Authorities have made elaborate preparations, including the establishment of cloakroom facilities, medical camps, and provisions for free food for visiting devotees. The temple doors will be open from 5:30 am until 1:30 am the following day, allowing devotees ample time to pay their respects to Lord Krishna, the deity of the temple.
With a significant influx of devotees expected for Janmashtami, which marks the celebration of Lord Krishna’s birth, the temple management is diligently preparing ‘prasadam’ (devotional offerings) using non-perishable items. Additionally, meticulous attention is being given to adorning the deity in special attire, and the temple is being beautifully decorated with vibrant flowers and multicolored lights.
Kapil Sharma, the secretary of Srikrishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan, stated that the festival will commence with the enchanting sounds of the ‘shehnai’ (clarinet) and the rhythmic beating of drums within the temple premises.
In order to enhance the convenience of devotees, makeshift cloakroom facilities have been arranged at three different points leading to Sri Krishna Janmasthan. While these facilities provide a convenient space for belongings, visitors have been advised not to carry valuable items or electronic devices. Instead, they are encouraged to leave such items at their accommodations before proceeding to the temple.
Chief Medical Officer Ajai Kumar Verma confirmed that medical facilities will be readily available at each of the makeshift cloakroom locations, ensuring the well-being of all attendees.
Sri Krishna Sankirtan Mandal has taken the initiative to provide meals to every pilgrim visiting the temple for the next seven days, ensuring that devotees receive nourishment during their stay.
Given the expected high turnout of devotees, security measures have been heightened. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Rapid Action Force (RAF) will be deployed on the occasion to maintain order and ensure safety. Additionally, Anand Kumar, the Superintendent of Police (Security), noted that additional security personnel from the Agra range would be brought in to bolster security arrangements for the celebration.
