New Delhi (Agency): The upcoming Naval Commanders’ Conference, set to take place in New Delhi from September 4 to 6, 2023, will provide a platform for senior leaders of the Indian Navy to review and deliberate on various operational, logistical, training, and administrative activities undertaken in the previous six months. The conference will also chart the course for the upcoming months and address key policy decisions.
The conference, chaired by the Chief of the Naval Staff, will be conducted in a ‘Hybrid’ format and will involve the participation of top naval commanders. Key discussions will encompass operational strategies, material management, logistics, human resources, training initiatives, and administrative matters.
During the event, the Raksha Rajya Mantri (Defence Minister) will address the Naval Commanders and engage in interactions with them. The Chief of the Defence Staff will also be present, contributing to the comprehensive exchange of insights and ideas.
The conference will facilitate an institutionalized exchange between Naval Commanders and senior officials from the government, fostering inter-ministerial initiatives aimed at ensuring a secure maritime environment, which is crucial for the overall economic growth of the nation.
In addition to discussing operational readiness, the conference will delve into the issue of Tri-Service synergy, analyzing the operational environment, and assessing the readiness of the maritime forces. The performance of weapons and sensors of naval platforms will be under scrutiny, aligning with the Indian Navy’s role as the preferred security partner and first responder to crises in the region.
The conference will also evaluate ongoing naval projects with a focus on enhancing indigenization through the “Make in India” initiative, in line with the vision of achieving complete ‘AatmaNirbharta’ (self-reliance) by 2047. Furthermore, the conference will showcase indigenization efforts, innovations, and technological initiatives by the Indian Navy.
Various human resources initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for naval personnel will be reviewed, along with progress in identifying and addressing outdated practices within the Indian Navy.
The conference’s multifaceted discussions and insights will contribute to the strategic direction of the Indian Navy, reinforcing its role as a vital component of the nation’s security and growth.
