New Delhi (Agency): Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal took charge of reviewing preparations for the 4th G-20 Sherpa meeting, which will take place in Nuh district from September 3 to 7. The meeting serves as an essential precursor to the G-20 Summit scheduled in Delhi from September 9-10.
The event is coordinated by the administrations of both Nuh and Gurugram districts, under the guidance of the G-20 Secretariat. An official statement mentioned that besides member countries of the G-20, Sherpas and other delegates from invited countries will also attend the event.
Sanjeev Kaushal emphasized the need for precise planning to make this “grand occasion” successful. He directed officers involved in the event to ensure there are no shortages in any departmental tasks during the meeting days.
Improvement work on roads leading to the venue, carried out by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Public Works Department (PWD), is already completed. Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav and Nuh Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata assured the chief secretary that no stone will be left unturned to make the Sherpa meeting a success.
Adding a local touch, Amit Agarwal, Additional Principal Secretary to the chief minister and Director General of Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department, informed that efforts are underway to present the rich cultural heritage of Haryana to the guests.
Senior law enforcement officers like Haryana Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur and Gurugram Police Commissioner Vikas Arora were also part of the review meeting, ensuring all aspects of security are covered.
The preparations take on additional significance due to recent communal clashes in Nuh that resulted in six deaths. These incidents followed an attack on a procession of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and spilled over into adjoining areas, including Gurugram.
