New Delhi (Agency): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath has called on his party’s Information Technology (IT) and Social Media team to get ready for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Speaking at the ‘Shankhnaad Abhiyaan’ workshop, he stressed the importance of responding “timely” to negative information from opposition parties on social media platforms.
Adityanath advised the team to focus on highlighting the achievements of both the central and state governments. “Any lie of the opposition parties should be answered through beneficiaries of state-run schemes. This will not only expose the lies of the opponents but also give them a befitting reply,” he said.
The Chief Minister emphasized the necessity of countering misinformation in real-time. “It is necessary to give timely reply to negative information on social media. Give correct and logical answers, and take special care of linguistic decorum. Have information about the (various) schemes,” he advised.
Adityanath pointed out that nearly everyone today uses a smartphone, making social media an impactful platform for disseminating information. “Today, almost every person is a smartphone user, to whom the true picture of the positive transformation in the country and the state must reach. For this, there can be no more powerful platform than social media,” he said.
The Chief Minister’s call comes at a time when political parties in India are increasingly recognizing the power of social media in shaping public opinion. This platform can be a double-edged sword; it can both boost and harm a party’s image. Hence, Adityanath’s focus on preparing his party’s IT and Social Media team well in advance of the upcoming elections is seen as a strategic move.
The 2024 Lok Sabha elections are a major milestone, and political parties are already gearing up for the battle ahead. With Adityanath urging his team to make use of online media effectively, it seems that the BJP is leaving no stone unturned in its quest to maintain its political stronghold.
By emphasizing the role of social media in modern politics, Adityanath is drawing attention to its increasing importance as a tool for electoral campaigns. His advice to the party’s IT cell indicates a well-thought-out strategy aimed at ensuring that the BJP remains a dominant force in the upcoming elections.
