New Delhi (Agency): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is all set to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Union Ministers in New Delhi on August 3, marking a significant event in the political landscape. This meeting holds particular importance as it will be the first time the two leaders interact since the Congress formed the government in Karnataka following their victory in the Assembly polls held in May.
According to a statement released by the Chief Minister’s Office, Siddaramaiah is scheduled to meet with PM Modi at 11 am on August 3, where they will engage in crucial discussions. Apart from the Prime Minister, the Karnataka CM will also hold meetings with other prominent Union Ministers, including Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. These meetings are expected to focus on matters of mutual interest and concerns related to the state.
In addition to the meetings with Union Ministers, Siddaramaiah will be accompanied by state Congress leaders and Ministers for a gathering with the party leadership in New Delhi on August 2. This meeting aims to strategize and chart a plan of action for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Notable leaders like AICC President M Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, General Secretaries K C Venugopal, and Randeep Singh Surjewala are expected to be present at this crucial meeting.
It is worth noting that Siddaramaiah’s meeting with the Prime Minister comes in the backdrop of various political developments in the state and at the national level. As Karnataka gears up for the next Lok Sabha elections, political parties are actively strategizing and mobilizing their resources to strengthen their positions. The meeting with Union Ministers, particularly the Finance Minister, Defence Minister, and Road Transport Minister, could be indicative of the state government’s focus on important matters related to finance, defense, and infrastructure development.
