The Aryavarth Express Tokyo, Japan: Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, held a series of high-level meetings in Tokyo on Wednesday with leading Japanese corporate executives to attract investment into the state’s automobile and infrastructure sectors.
During his visit, Yogi Adityanath met Toshihiro Suzuki, President and Representative Director of Suzuki Motor Corporation, to discuss expanding large-scale investments in Uttar Pradesh’s automobile industry.
He also held detailed discussions with the delegation of Minda Corporation, including Executive Director Aakash Minda and representatives of its Japanese joint venture partners. The meeting resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening the state’s advanced auto component manufacturing ecosystem.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister said he assured the delegation of full support from the Uttar Pradesh government, including smooth facilitation, land allocation, and infrastructure assistance. He reiterated the state’s commitment to promoting industrial growth, fostering technology partnerships, and generating employment opportunities.
Yogi Adityanath also met Shigeki Tanabe, Senior Managing Executive Officer and Executive General Manager (Sales Management Division) at Konoike Transport Co., Ltd.. Discussions focused on expanding the company’s footprint in Uttar Pradesh through logistics parks, warehousing, and multimodal transport infrastructure. The Chief Minister invited the company to explore opportunities in medical devices manufacturing, leveraging the Dedicated Freight Corridor network and the Medical Devices Park in YEIDA.
Earlier, Yogi Adityanath held talks with Kazuki Shimizu, Managing Officer and Chief Operating Officer of the Infrastructure Projects Business Unit at Mitsui & Co.. He encouraged the company to explore investment opportunities in renewable energy, ICT, semiconductors, and data centres, in line with Uttar Pradesh’s fast-paced industrial expansion. The discussions also covered collaboration in infrastructure development, logistics networks, and industrial investments to strengthen the state’s growth corridors and global supply chain integration.
The Chief Minister is on a two-day official visit to Japan from February 25 to 26, focused on deepening bilateral cooperation and attracting strategic investments to Uttar Pradesh.
