New Delhi: Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) national spokesperson Vinod Bansal on Sunday urged authorities to investigate institutions “like Al-Falah University” in the wake of the November 10 blast near Delhi’s Red Fort that claimed 12 lives.
Bansal termed the incident a deeply troubling reminder of rising violence.
“Many innocent lives were lost in the terror attack near the Red Fort. We organised a yagya today to pray for peace for the departed souls and for the speedy recovery of the injured,” he said.
He further alleged that certain groups were spreading violence “in the name of Islam and jihad” and called for a probe into institutions he claimed may be linked.
“All universities similar to Al-Falah University should be investigated,” Bansal said.
Earlier in the day, the VHP organised a Shanti Yagna at Arya Samaj Mandir in Kalkaji to pay tribute to the victims of the Red Fort blast. Special prayers were offered for those injured in the incident.
The powerful explosion on November 10 near the Red Fort complex killed 12 people and injured several others, sending shockwaves across the capital. Following the blast, Delhi Police filed a fresh FIR under sections related to criminal conspiracy as part of the ongoing investigation. Security around the historic monument has also been tightened, with enhanced checks at all entry points.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated development, the National Medical Commission (NMC) cancelled the registrations of four doctors from Jammu & Kashmir — Dr Muzaffar Ahmad, Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather, Dr Muzamil Shakeel, and Dr Shaheen Saeed — removing them from the Indian Medical Register with immediate effect. All State Medical Councils have been informed of the decision, sources said.
