Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday inaugurated the “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility” awareness campaign at the State Secretariat in Dehradun. The campaign aims to promote transparency and combat corruption across Uttarakhand and will continue until the State Foundation Day on November 9.
Speaking at the launch, CM Dhami urged all government officials to ensure complete transparency and integrity in their work. He stressed that corruption would not be tolerated under any circumstances and that all ongoing investigations into corruption cases would continue without interruption.
“This campaign has been launched with the message that there should be no corruption and complete transparency in governance. Everyone must ensure that people do not face any inconvenience in getting their work done. Those involved in corruption or negligence will not be spared,” Dhami said.
In addition, marking 25 years since Uttarakhand’s formation, the state government announced the introduction of a “Green Cess” on vehicles entering from other states. According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the funds collected through this cess will be used for air pollution control, green infrastructure projects, and smart traffic management systems.
Highlighting the initiative, CM Dhami said, “As Uttarakhand completes 25 years, we reaffirm our commitment to making the state clean, green, and pollution-free. The revenue from the Green Cess will support cleaner air, better green infrastructure, and improved traffic management.”
The campaign and the new environmental initiative together reflect the state government’s dual focus on transparency in governance and sustainability in development.
