The Aryavarth EXpress Dehradun (Uttarakhand): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday took part in the Holi Milan celebration held at the BJP State Office in Dehradun. He celebrated the festival with party office-bearers and workers, playing Holi and extending heartfelt greetings to the people of the state.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the festival of Holi symbolises love, harmony, and social unity. He noted that the occasion conveys the message of removing differences and binding society together. He added that the Bharatiya Janata Party remains committed to the ideals of Antyodaya, service, and “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” aiming for inclusive development across all sections of society.
Later in the day, celebrations continued at the Chief Minister’s residence, which was filled with vibrant colours and traditional festivities. Folk artists and Holiyaars from across Uttarakhand performed cultural programmes, adding to the festive spirit. Jaunsari artists presented the energetic Harul dance, while Kumaoni Holiyaars sang traditional Holi songs. A cultural troupe from the Rath region of Pauri district also showcased its distinctive performance
From Garhwal and Kumaon to Jaunsar, the sounds of traditional music echoed through the residence. Performances were accompanied by drums, manjiras, and other indigenous instruments. Artists sang popular folk Holi songs welcoming the arrival of spring and celebrating the festival’s cultural richness.
Chief Minister Dhami actively participated in the celebrations, joining artists in song and dance. Folk performers praised the state government’s efforts to promote and preserve Uttarakhand’s traditional art forms and cultural heritage. The day-long festivities reflected the unity and vibrant cultural diversity of the state.
