Vice-President Urges JNU Students to Neutralize Anti-India Narratives

Addressing the students, the Vice-President noted that they are entering a world where India boasts wholesome governance, affirmative policies, and a globally respected and robust economy.

Agency(New Delhi): In a compelling address at the 7th Convocation Ceremony of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Vice-President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar called upon students to become champions of scrutiny and defenders of India’s constitutional values. He emphasized that JNU is the right place to engage in critical examination, asking probing questions, and neutralizing anti-India narratives.

Shri Dhankhar highlighted the profound impact of informed minds capitalizing on the ignorance of people, posing a significant challenge to society. He asserted that JNU serves as the nerve-center to engage in scrutinizing and dismantling false narratives propagated by individuals seeking to tarnish India’s Constitutional institutions, both domestically and abroad.

He emphasized that this enabling system allows students to harness their talents, fulfill ambitions, and realize dreams.

Shri Dhankhar underscored that India now upholds the rule of law, with no individual considered above it. Corruption is no longer rewarded, and respect for the law is rigorously enforced. He praised government initiatives aimed at inclusive growth and stressed that society will change when everyone cares for the last person in the room.

Reflecting on the consecration ceremony of ‘Ram Lalla’ in Ayodhya on January 22nd, the Vice-President highlighted the celebratory mood in the country. He noted that this event symbolized the undoing of 500 years of pain through a commitment to righteousness and adherence to established legal procedures.

Shri Dhankhar traced India’s journey from being one of the ‘Fragile Five’ economies to ranking among the Top Five global economies. He cited the International Monetary Fund’s recognition of India’s remarkable economic rise and praised India’s prowess in indigenous defense manufacturing and technological advancement.

Commending India’s leadership as the president of the G20, the Vice-President lauded the outcomes of the summit, including the inclusion of the African Union as a permanent member and the launch of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor. He emphasized that the motto of India’s Presidency, ‘One Earth-One Family-One Future,’ is deeply embedded in India’s civilizational ethos.

The convocation ceremony was attended by Union Minister Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Chancellor of JNU Shri Kanwal Sibal, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, faculty members, students, and other dignitaries.
