NIA Conducts Multi-State Raids: Ghazwa-e-Hind Case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carries out raids in three states, seizing incriminating material related to the Pakistan-operated Ghazwa-e-Hind radicalized module.

New Delhi (Agency): In a significant operation, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at multiple locations across three states in connection with the Ghazwa-e-Hind radicalized module. The targeted areas included two locations in Patna and one each in Darbhanga, Surat, and Bareilly. During the raids, incriminating material such as digital devices, SIM cards, and documents were seized from the premises of the suspects.

The case originated from the arrest of Marghoob Ahmad Danish, also known as “Tahir,” in Patna last year. The NIA took over the case shortly after Danish’s arrest. He was charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. According to the NIA, Danish was found to be a member of the Ghazwa-e-Hind module, which aimed to radicalize susceptible youth and establish sleeper cells for carrying out terrorist activities.

Investigations revealed that Danish was the administrator of a WhatsApp Group called “Ghazwa-e-Hind,” created by a Pakistani national named Zain. The group consisted of individuals from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Yemen, with the intention of promoting the establishment of Ghazwa-e-Hind over Indian territory. Additionally, Danish created various social media groups on platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, and BiP Messenger to further the objectives of the Ghazwa-e-Hind. Further investigation indicated that the suspects involved in the case were in contact with handlers based in Pakistan, actively propagating the concept of Ghazwa-e-Hind.

The NIA’s multi-state raids and the subsequent seizure of incriminating material are significant steps in dismantling the Ghazwa-e-Hind radicalized module. By targeting the individuals involved in spreading radical ideology and establishing sleeper cells, the NIA aims to curb potential terrorist activities in the country.

The investigation into the Ghazwa-e-Hind module highlights the ongoing efforts to address and counteract radicalization activities originating from Pakistan. The NIA’s operations serve as a crucial defense mechanism to protect national security and maintain the safety of Indian citizens.
