LayerX Nets $26M for Browser Security Boost

LayerX raises $26 million in Series A funding to enhance its innovative browser security platform, promising enhanced protection for enterprise users globally.

The Aryavarth Express
Agency (New Delhi): LayerX, the innovator behind the LayerX Browser Security platform, today revealed a $26 million Series A funding milestone led by Glilot+, Glilot Capital Partners’ early-growth fund, with participation from Dell Technologies Capital among other contributors. This financial boost, which increases the firm’s total funding to $34 million, will be directed towards expanding its talent base and extending its global market presence. As a result of this funding, Lior Litwak of Glilot Capital and Yair Snir from Dell Technologies Capital will join the LayerX board.

In the current corporate landscape, enterprise employees extensively utilize browser-based services and SaaS applications, which opens up various security vulnerabilities such as data breaches, identity theft, phishing, and the installation of malicious browser extensions. LayerX addresses these issues by providing a security layer for browser-based work on both managed and unmanaged devices without the need for a dedicated secure browser.

Or Eshed, co-founder and CEO of LayerX, emphasized the platform’s ease of installation and non-intrusiveness, preserving the user’s efficiency and browsing experience. He highlighted the increasing relevance of browser security as attackers shift their focus towards exploiting browser-related vulnerabilities, especially with the advent of GenAI tools.

LayerX’s solution, an Enterprise Browser Extension, is compatible with all major browsers and operates without the need for traditional security measures like agents or VPNs. It allows security teams to monitor user activities and instantly neutralize threats directly through the browser, enhancing both security and user experience.

The technology incorporates an AI engine that scrutinizes browser code in detail, offering insights into user behavior and potential security risks. This proactive approach not only defends against accidental and malicious threats by employees but also those posed directly by attackers.

Kobi Samboursky, founder of Glilot Capital, predicts that LayerX’s novel browser security solution could soon replace conventional SASE and SSE solutions used widely in today’s organizations, tapping into a market worth approximately $7 billion.

Yair Snir of Dell Technologies Capital praised the founders’ deep understanding of web threats and user behavior, which has shaped a security solution that is both effective and user-centric. He lauded LayerX’s approach to transforming browsers from vulnerabilities into secure platforms for enterprise work, adaptable across various devices and locations.
