The Aryavarth Express Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu): The Tamil Nadu State Board (DGE) Class 12 examinations for 2026 began on Monday, with students across the state appearing for their first board exams. Language papers, including Tamil, were conducted on the opening day.

In Tiruchirappalli district, a total of 31,215 students are scheduled to appear for the Higher Secondary (Plus Two) public examination, comprising 14,731 boys and 16,484 girls. Additionally, 967 private candidates—510 men and 457 women—will also take the exams. The district has 392 students with disabilities registered for the examinations.

Exams will be held across 134 centres in the district, including 72 in Tiruchirappalli and 62 in Lalgudi, covering students from 258 schools. On each day of the exams, question papers will be delivered to centres by 34 route officers. To ensure smooth conduct, 135 chief superintendents, 134 departmental officers, and 21 additional departmental officers have been appointed.

For the Higher Secondary First Year (arrear) examinations, 633 school students (433 boys and 200 girls) and 191 private candidates (107 men and 84 women) will appear.

To maintain fairness and order, 260 flying squad members have been deployed across the district. Prior to the exams, a guidance and orientation meeting for teachers appointed as invigilators was held on February 24–25 at Bishop Heber Higher Secondary School, Teppakulam, briefing them on examination procedures and guidelines.

The exams are being conducted under strict supervision to ensure a smooth, transparent, and well-organized process for all students.
