The Aryavarth Express
Agency (Uttar Pradesh): Two people were killed when an SUV from the convoy of BJP candidate Karan Bhushan Singh, son of BJP MP and former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, ran over a bike in Uttar Pradesh’s Goda district. One of the deceased was 17 years old.

The victims reportedly died on the spot, while a third person sustained injuries and has been hospitalized. Visuals from the accident site showed the SUV, a Toyota Fortuner, with ‘police escort’ written on its rear windscreen.

NDTV reported that the police seized the SUV and arrested the driver, although it is unclear if Karan Bhushan Singh was present with the convoy during the incident.

Additional SP Radhe Shyam Rai provided further details, stating, “Rehan and Shehzad, the two were on the bike when they met an accident. Police took them to hospital where both were declared dead. Bodies are sent for the postmortem. A case has been registered under the appropriate sections. Fortuner has been taken into custody. The driver of the Fortuner is also arrested.”

Karan Bhushan Singh is the BJP candidate for the Kaiserganj constituency in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls, replacing his father Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who was dropped due to sexual harassment allegations by several women wrestlers.
