Sirsa Sizzles at 46.2°C Amid Heatwave in Haryana and Punjab

Agency (Punjab): On Thursday, the heatwave sweeping through Haryana and Punjab saw Sirsa recording the highest temperature at a scorching 46.2 degrees Celsius.

In Haryana, hot weather gripped the state, with Hisar reaching a high of 44.2 degrees Celsius. Mahendragarh and Rohtak also faced intense heat, recording temperatures of 44.6 degrees and 42.6 degrees Celsius, respectively. Bhiwani recorded a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius, while Ambala saw a high of 41.6 degrees Celsius, according to the meteorological center’s report.

In the neighboring state of Punjab, Bathinda was the hottest location, with a maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius. Faridkot experienced 43.5 degrees Celsius, Patiala recorded 42.3 degrees Celsius, Amritsar saw 42.5 degrees Celsius, and Ludhiana also recorded 42.3 degrees Celsius. Gurdaspur reached a high of 42 degrees Celsius, while Mohali registered 41.5 degrees Celsius.

The shared capital of both states, Chandigarh, recorded a temperature of 41.9 degrees Celsius, reflecting the widespread heatwave conditions affecting the region.
