Seven Naxalites were killed in a recent encounter in Chhattisgarh's forests, marking another significant operation by security forces.

The Aryavarth Express
Agency (Chhattisgarh): In a significant operation in Chhattisgarh, security forces eliminated seven Naxalites, including two women, during an encounter in the dense forests straddling Narayanpur and Kanker districts. This event marks the second major action against Naxalites by security personnel within the last 15 days.

The clash occurred early Tuesday morning around 6 am in the Abhujmad area, known as a Naxalite stronghold. A combined team from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Special Task Force (STF) engaged the Naxalites while on an anti-Naxal operation, according to a senior police official.

Post-conflict, the team recovered the bodies of the seven deceased, alongside an AK-47 rifle, other assorted weaponry, and explosives. The identities of the deceased Naxalites are still being determined as the search operation continues in the region.

This latest confrontation has brought the number of Naxalites killed to 88 this year in the Bastar region, which encompasses seven districts including Narayanpur and Kanker. Notably, an encounter on April 16th also saw 29 Naxalites killed in Kanker district, highlighting ongoing efforts to secure the area from Naxalite influence.
