Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Calls BJP’s Government Formation Plans ‘Daydreaming’

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik dismisses BJP's assertion that they will form the next government in the state, calling it "daydreaming." He expresses confidence in winning a sixth consecutive term.

The Aryavarth Express
Agency (Odisha): Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President Naveen Patnaik dismissed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assertion that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would form the next government in Odisha, describing it as “daydreaming.” Patnaik was responding to a query from his trusted aide V.K. Pandian regarding Modi’s remarks at election rallies in Berhampur and Nabarangpur.

During these rallies, the Prime Minister claimed that the BJD government’s “expiry date” would be June 4, when the results of the assembly elections would be announced. Patnaik remained unperturbed by this, replying, “BJP has been daydreaming for many days.”

Pandian confidently countered Modi’s prediction, stating that Patnaik would take the oath as Odisha’s chief minister for the sixth consecutive term between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm on June 9.

As the election cycle progresses, both parties remain focused on securing key victories across constituencies.
