Odisha Chief Minister Hails India’s Freedom Struggle as Universal Inspiration

New Delhi (Agency): In the heart of Bhubaneswar, at the Exhibition Ground, the National Flag proudly unfurled, marking the 77th Independence Day of India. The event was graced by the presence of Odisha’s Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, who addressed the gathered audience with passion and conviction.

Opening his speech, Patnaik paid homage to the heroes of India’s freedom struggle. He declared, “India’s freedom struggle ushered in a new era in the history of the world. This struggle is an inspiration for everyone.” He celebrated the spirit of the struggle that led India to become an influential power on the global stage.

The Chief Minister continued by highlighting the nation’s recent achievements, especially in the realm of space research. “The successful launch of Chandrayaan 3 has cemented India’s place as an important nation in space research,” Patnaik asserted, indicating India’s rising prominence in the global community.

Focusing on the state of Odisha, the Chief Minister shared an optimistic view of its progress. He pointed out the positive transformations that the state has witnessed in various sectors. With pride, he mentioned, “Odisha has transformed with the state undergoing major positive changes in education, healthcare, tourism, infrastructure and other fields due to the application of the 5T initiative.”

One of the significant achievements he highlighted was the reduction in poverty levels in Odisha. The state has not only seen a drop in poverty but has also attracted considerable investments, leading to the creation of numerous job opportunities for the youth. Patnaik further announced a significant decision made by the state government. “Odisha government has decided to open banking outlets in 4,373 unbanked panchayats in the state,” he revealed. Such an initiative can be a game-changer, bringing financial inclusion to the remotest parts of the state.

Additionally, the Chief Minister shed light on the “Madhu Babu Pension Yojana”, a welfare scheme aimed at the elderly. “More than 4 lakh beneficiaries have been included in the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana. They will get pension under the scheme from today,” he confirmed. Such welfare schemes underscore the government’s commitment to the welfare of its citizens.

In conclusion, Patnaik emphasized the inclusive nature of Odisha’s economic development. He stated that the growth and development have touched every section of society, from the poor, farmers, women, to tribals, artists, and youths. Everyone has a share in the state’s progress.
