Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Urges for Peace and Harmony

Siddaramaiah speaks of the nation's crisis, stresses peace and harmony, and criticizes the Centre's fiscal practices.

New Delhi (Agency): Bengaluru, the capital of the southern Indian state of Karnataka, celebrated India’s 77th Independence Day at Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Grounds. During this event, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah spoke about some crucial issues the country is facing.

In recent times, India has seen some tough challenges. Siddaramaiah pointed out that “the country has been facing a crisis in the last few years.” Feelings of “hatred, violence, suspicion, revenge and intolerance” are growing. He expressed concern that certain groups in society are not only showing these negative traits but also trying to show that many people accept them. “There is a need to defeat these efforts as they are aimed to create negativity,” Siddaramaiah said.

He stressed that as a civilized country, India must stop these negative actions. Only with peace and harmony can the country progress. Siddaramaiah warned about the dangers of a society filled with “violence, chaos, and lack of law and order.” Such a society makes many people poor. He added that many young and talented individuals are leaving India. Universities and schools in India should teach students to think scientifically and become skilled.

The Chief Minister also spoke about his state, Karnataka. People here have always resisted those who want to divide them. That’s one reason why they chose the Congress party to lead the state. Siddaramaiah said he and his team are working to protect the “land, language, and identity” of Karnataka.

He introduced the “Karnataka Model of Development.” This approach to growth is inspired by famous figures from India’s history. People like Buddha, Mahatma Gandhi, Basavanna, Dr. BR Ambedkar, and Kuvempu. These people believed in a kind of development that focuses on humans and their needs.

Karnataka is a state that pays a lot of taxes to India’s central government. Siddaramaiah shared some numbers to explain this. Karnataka gives more than Rs 4 lakh crore as taxes and duties to the central government. But they get only Rs 50,000 crore back. “Karnataka will be the richest state if we get what actually we deserve naturally,” Siddaramaiah said. But despite these challenges, the state follows strict financial rules. And they are working hard for the state’s growth. He believes true patriots understand and appreciate their efforts.

Siddaramaiah concluded by discussing the importance of peace in society. He said that his government’s top goal is to keep law and order and ensure peace. He warned that his government will not allow anyone to spread fake news on social media. And they will strongly oppose any actions that disturb social peace.

Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah used the Independence Day celebration to share his thoughts on India’s challenges and Karnataka’s goals. He urged people to focus on peace and harmony for a better future.
