Haryana 2024: Congress Poised to Win Alone, Declares Bhupinder Hooda

Former Haryana chief, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, asserts Congress can win the 2024 state elections without any alliances.

New Delhi (Agency): In the city of Chandigarh, on July 28, a former leader of the Haryana state, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, said something bold. He said that his political party, the Congress, could win the upcoming state elections in 2024 all by itself.

This statement came out when Hooda was answering a question from a journalist. The question was about the chance of Congress joining hands with other parties to fight the election in Haryana.

The journalist told Hooda about 26 opposition parties coming together. They formed a group called the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA). Their plan is to fight against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the national elections in 2024. The journalist then asked if Congress was thinking about joining any of these parties for the state election. One such party could be the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which also works in Haryana.

When Hooda was talking to journalists in a place called Rohtak on Thursday, he said, “First, the national elections will take place. But when it comes to Haryana, Congress can win on its own.”

The Congress party, which has not been in power in Haryana for nine years, wants to defeat the ruling BJP-JJP alliance in the state elections.

After visiting places in Rohtak affected by floods, Hooda spoke again. He said, “Once a Congress government is formed in the state, all online services, such as the Parivar Pehchan Patra, Property ID and Meri Fasal Mera Byora, which are causing people trouble, will be closed.”

“Making things digital is not a bad thing. It started when Congress was in power. It was the Congress government that brought online governments and started making local governing bodies digital. The goal was to make things easy for the public and make government work smoother,” Hooda, who is now the leader of opposition in the Haryana Assembly, said.

“But the current government is using it to bother the public and avoid its responsibility,” he claimed.
