A Virtual Friendship With Real World Repercussions

A Pakistani woman and her children were detained for unauthorized stay in Greater Noida, sheltered by a man she met on PUBG.

Noida (Agency): An unsuspecting online game has become the catalyst for an unexpected chain of events. A Pakistani woman and her four children have been detained by the police for unauthorized stay in Greater Noida. As per the police reports, the family was provided shelter by a local man, whom she connected with through the online game, PUBG.

The police also have the Greater Noida resident, who allegedly provided the woman and her children with accommodation, under their custody. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida), Saad Miya Khan, confirmed the detention of the local resident, the Pakistani woman, and her children.

The intriguing relationship between the woman, reportedly in her late 20s, and the local man, was apparently initiated over the popular online game PUBG, eventually blossoming into a friendship. “Both the local resident and the Pakistani woman are presently being questioned. Additional information will be released once the interrogation concludes,” commented Khan.

According to the local police, the woman and her children seemingly entered India from Nepal last month. Subsequently, they navigated their way to Uttar Pradesh, and eventually ended up in Greater Noida. A local official pointed out that they were staying in the man’s rented apartment in the Rabupura area of Greater Noida.

This peculiar incident highlights the unexpected implications of online relationships, often taken lightly due to their virtual nature. However, this episode has demonstrated how connections formed in the virtual world can have real-world consequences, prompting officials to urge caution while engaging in online platforms.
