Bengaluru: With the stirring slogan “Saluting the heroes of Kargil – forever in our hearts, forever remembered,” the Sri Ram Nath Goenka Memorial Trust celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas on Saturday at SSB Sure Shot Academy, Kanakapura Road, Bengaluru, in collaboration with The Aryavarth Express.
The event began with patriotic fervor as the campus echoed with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” The chief guest, Maj Gen VPS Bhakuni, VSM (Retd), hoisted the Indian flag in the presence of Brig P. M. Ahluwalia (Retd), Col Rakesh Kumar Bhardwaj, VSM (Retd) and Capt. Pankaj Sharma (Retd) (NAVY) who were the guests of honour. Together, they paid solemn tribute to the bravehearts of the Kargil War, recalling tales of valour and sacrifice that continue to inspire the nation.
Over 50 senior citizens joined the dignitaries in marking this historic day, making the ceremony a heartfelt intergenerational tribute to India’s armed forces.
During their speeches, all the guests shared their personal experiences and memories from the time of the Kargil War, highlighting the resilience, patriotism, and courage of India’s soldiers.
Dr. Prashant Goenka, President of the Sri Ram Nath Goenka Memorial Trust, expressed his deep respect for the Indian Army, stating that the trust will always stand as a supportive pillar for defence personnel and their families. Mr. B. S. Sathya Kumar, Secretary of the Trust, also elaborated on the trust’s mission and ongoing initiatives in support of national service and veterans.
The event concluded on a warm note with camaraderie, patriotic wishes, and breakfast for all attendees.
