In a historic move, the BJP pledges to support the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) in bidding for the 2036 Olympic Games. The party aims to develop world-class sports infrastructure, including stadiums and training centers, to host major international sporting events and showcase India’s sporting prowess to the world.
To ensure the well-being of athletes who have brought glory to the nation, the manifesto promises to launch a comprehensive welfare plan for retired sportspersons. The BJP aims to provide them with educational opportunities, employment assistance, and promotional avenues, enabling them to lead dignified lives and contribute to the development of sports in the country.
Recognizing the richness and diversity of India’s indigenous sporting traditions, the BJP pledges to include more traditional sports under the ambit of the Khelo India Scheme. The party aims to promote and popularize these sports, providing them with the necessary support and infrastructure to thrive in the modern era.
To make India self-reliant in sports equipment manufacturing, the manifesto promises to incentivize the production of high-quality goods in partnership with the domestic sports industry. The BJP aims to create a vibrant ecosystem for sports innovation and entrepreneurship, aligned with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The BJP also pledges to ensure universal access to sports infrastructure and facilities across the country. The party aims to expand the Khelo India network and other grassroots sports initiatives, providing opportunities for every child to discover and nurture their sporting talents from an early age.
Recognizing the potential of technology in driving sports excellence, the manifesto promises to promote sports startups and create a robust technology ecosystem for sports. The BJP aims to leverage advanced analytics, wearable devices, and virtual reality to enhance player performance, fan engagement, and sports broadcasting.
Other key initiatives include the establishment of a National Sports Education Board to integrate sports into the mainstream curriculum; the creation of a National Sports Talent Search Portal to identify and support promising young athletes; the strengthening of anti-doping mechanisms to ensure fair play and integrity in sports; and the promotion of sports tourism through the development of world-class sports facilities and the hosting of international events.
